I have a '99 Wolverine and its been making a kind of metal rattling sound up front. However it ONLY does this when I get on the throttle and am hitting some bumps. What in the world could this be? My only thought and now that I think of it I really think it is the factory heat shield thing over the exhaust I think may be loose an rattling against the pipe......I guess I will find out this weekend. Bike is down at the cabin.

ur front shocks are probably sho or one of them thats what it sounds like

and for the turning situation ur fixin to haveta buy some cv joints maybe even front axles cause thats what im doing right now casue mine did the same thang and im gettin it fixed as we speak

its not cheap either or u might get lucky and they might just need a good greasing

The thing that gets me is it makes the noise when you just turn the handlebars. It doesn't have to be moving. I've replaced the front wheel bearings with sealed ones. Theres a place called fwdservice that makes replacement parts for the cv joints so you can rebuild them. Cost is about $47.00 apeace.
