my uncle has one and loves it. i know some pros but no cons. i'm sure there is some but none that i know of. the comfort is great the power is great. my uncle is always able to go where he want without the worries of getting stuck. from crossing rivers to climbing hills, it's all good

I'll second that. The Kodiak is an awesome machine. Tons of pros, 1st of which is the diff-lock. It's also a really nimble and fast quad for it's size. The engine has proven itself over and over. The adjustable suspension is nice. The only cons I can think of are small stupid stuff like check the trans intake when you 1st get it, a lot of people say theirs was loose, many batteries are already crapped out even 1st bought, the stock tires suck but you'll have this prob w/ almost any quad you buy, and honestly that's all I can think of.

Default how is the Kodiak 450.

pros:
strong engine, diff. lock, high towing capacity, great belt system
fit and finish: wrinkle coated racks, digital dash with odometer, hours, speedo
ergonomics: small and nimble for tight spots; slender midsection for your legs; adjustable suspension
disc brakes which stop well and clean easy

cons:
some claim can be tippy on off-camber places
the fenders offer great protection but they are squared off at the edges at the bottom and i've ripped part of one already
sometimes there is a delay when shifting out of diff. lock into 2wd
plastic skid plate (i haven't had any problems with mine, it holds it's own)

overall i highly recommend this beast. i was looking for something mid-class and my choices were the eiger/ rancher/ kodiak. the eiger doesn't have the diff. lock and its mid-section felt like i was sitting on my wifes horse. i didn't like the nose overhang on the eiger either. the rancher had less suspension travel, drum brakes, lower towing capacity, and a more expensive tranny to fix with no hi-lo gears. i wanted something with a solid axle. the 2005 has IRS if that's what you desire.
