Yamaha badgcraper
#1
Ive got a 96 yamaha badger 80cc quad and I'm just doin some regular maintenance stuff and gettin ready to sell it, and i'm redoin the front brakes/bearings etc...
So I got new brake shoes, took the old completely worn ones off, and now when i went to to put the brakes back together I realized that when the brake cables are connected, the brakes are partially engaged. I tried playin around with the little tightener on the handlebars, it got me a little bit of slack, but not enough. I just need enough cable to the brakes are disengaged enough to get the drum over the shoes.
Do I need new cables? How come they are now so short that the brakes are partially engaged?

There should be some adjusters on the actuator arm on the drum, I've never worked on a Badger, but Blasters and other drum brake types have a threaded rod and wing nut that allow you to set the tension on each side seperate of the adjuster by the brake handle.
