Default What do you think the problem is with this shee

When my friend and I were in the mountains quading one weekend his banshee started to not work really well. We had been going through a lot of water and it wa muddy but what happened is one of the pistons started backfiring and so it wasn't pretty much stopped performing. Now it seems that there sin't a spark even coming. Has anyone faced this and know what the problem is and what I should do to help him out. It sucks not having a riding partner!

From your description of the problem we may as well assume that the engine fell out. There are more than few things you need to check before anyone can help you. Does it have spark? Pull a plug wire and hold it as he kicks it, you will find out fast. Is it getting fuel? Are the plugs wet with fuel? does it have compression? Is the air box full of water? Get the picture?

Wow, I'm surprised at the amount of pride I sense in this forum. Why don't we all just be humble and help one another out without getting our panties twisted. As you may read in my first post that, no there is no spark. It wasn't like that at first it was the next day that we couldn't get a spark. The plugs are fine and no, a new one didn't solve the problem. There was no excesive water or anything that seemed to be a problem sitting in the airbox or anything. Now, if you write your post to try and make someone feel dumb then don't bother writing, but if you want to help then I appreciate your responses. I think that shuld go for the rest of this entire forum. I can't beleive the crap that some people write in here.

check his carbs!! on our mach z 800 triple the center carb had the needle stuck in it, and all it did was back fire, but yours also sounds like the coil, stator, or a bad spark plug wire ? so check it out.
