Why is my warrior doing this?
#1
Ok recently i had the carb cleaned by my cousin and uncle, but before that about 4 months before that i had the dealorship clean it. Since then whenever i let off the throttle or get on it hard it seems to hesitate ( when i get on it hard) and sputter( when i let off or downshift). I don't know what they changed in my carb but i need this problem resolved A.S.A.P.!! Any ideas?

if you're popping and spitting through the carb when opening the throttle and popping and spitting through the exhaust when closing the throttle then you're running lean ..
if it's the other way around then you're rich ..
sypmtom of lean is also poor response on the throttle, but that could also be a too rich condition if it happens on snapping WOT. Warrior's are supposedly notorious for bogging off the throttle anyway ..
Hope you find the problem ..

Check the spark plug it should be golden brown. If its white its too lean,if real dark its too rich.My dad is having the hardest time getting the jetting right, and the dealer was the one that jetted it.

There should be a little tool kit under the seat with a plug socket you turn with the screwdriver, crude, but it works. I went out and bought an 18 MM deep socket so I have the right one, getting the knuckle joint for the socket wrench helps when gettting into tight spots. My Wolverine and your Warrior have the same motors, so that should be the socket for you, and most other ATVs. Not to poke fun at you, but if you plan to ride a lot, you should learn to do basic self maintenence like carb cleaning/jetting, and have a few tools to do it. You will feel a lot better when you ride when you do the job yourself and know exactly what was done and how to do it !!
For now, maybe get a hold of someone to help and pull that carb again, sounds like something stuck in a jet or some othe passage, get a can of carb cleaner and blast out all the passages in the carb, pull all jets ( main and pilot) and blast them out, then blow it dry with an air gun, check the float level, and put it back on. One thing the Warrior carb is bad for is a bog off idle, this is caused a lot by the weak little spring on the accel pump rod in the carb bowl, find an old clicker ink pen, remove the spring and put it in the place of the factory one, you will see it is the same size, but much stronger, and will make sure that pump rod don't get stuck and cause you problems later.

try this before major things............
on the left side of the carb towards the rear of the carb there is a phillips head screw that should be inset a little bit. turn the gas off on the petcock and unscrew that, there should be your overflow tube in the back by the shock, youll see gas trickling out of it. dont unscrew it totally!!! let the gas all drain out of the carb and then screw that screw back in. this may get rid of dirt in there or if there are any particles in there causing problems, its worked for me before.
email me at mcouture@nmu.edu if you need more instructions.....hope i can help!!
