Food Plot Preparation!!
#1
Here are some pics of the food plot I disced up using the a Tufline (Biologic) Disc I restored this Summer. Actually, it did a better job than I thought it would!! You can see, it seems to dig fairly deep! We sprayed the weeds 1 1/2 hours before we discd the soil. It also pulled up alot of sticks while discing...bringing them to the surface. Only problem is I don't have a harrow or rake to them up with. I really need a harrow or something to help smooth the ground. There were alot of holes or peaks and valleys caused after being bulldozed. I do have to say, low gear, 4-wheel drive - the big Griz came through!! :-) I purchase the Griz 660 last May '03, and this is the first I've used it for hard work! The bike got pretty hot while discing, but didn't seem to bother it much. I was a bit concerned about the heat from the engine. Yamaha already installed the heat kit (recall) on my bike which seemed to help, but I wonder if there is any after market products to help disperse the heat?? Basically, I view heat from the engine as the main contributor engine wear and tear??
