not in the carb make sure you don't get it in the carb!!!!! just around it to see if you have any leaks going from the carb to the motor.

i was just kidding when i said it might be ready to blow up ...........
but seriously your carbs should not be open very far at all i mean like maby a 1/16 of an inch if that
if they are open 1/2 inch they are stuck open your slides only open about 1 1/2 inches wide open
my best guess it that your throttle is not releasing all the way

just
enough
to
have
fun

Default small banshee problem

hey man. this happened to me on several occations. i dont know what caused it but it was an easy fix for me. all that happened to me was that the point at where the single cable splits into two, it was getting wedged where it goes into the splitter. causing the throtle to stay open. the point at which i am talking is located under the tank. make sure that the cables are in there perfectly. if not then it is acting like you have the throtel at about half open. i dont know exactly what caused it but my best guess whas that the cable is getting kinda old and the joints arent holding very tight anymore.

this may not be your problem but it is definatly worth checking.
