Default stripping bolts on Grizz

Kidding,,,,,just a sig fan over here.

The bolt could have been over torqued by the factory/ dealer/ other nimrod. Otherwise could have been a defective thread or cross-threaded by one of the same.

Default stripping bolts on Grizz

Awww come on, Glocks Rock!! Then again, I do have a Sig as well..

Any way, can on topic. Not sure what the rack bolt looks like. Are the trreads deep or are they just a few turns cut in to a thin piece of metal? One way or another, things happen. I can not image a wrong way to remove a bolt. It it is going to strip, well, its going to strip.

Not sure what the stock exhaust mod is but let me pass this along. After destroying many a bolt located some place in some form of exhaust system I became a little more careful. Hundreds of heat cycles take a toll on the fasteners and their threads. I fire it up a minute to warm the system a little before I try and back out a fastener. I find that I have better results. You just have to watch burning yourself.

I love the brownings and the sigs. But I carry a Glock on duty. I have never had any problems at all with it. I have taken several firearms courses with it, including SWAT and the NRA firearms instrucots course where we fired thousands of rounds. NO malfunctions. Good maintenance and cleaning will go a long way. I am going to try the stock exhaust mod next month and I will let you know how it comes out.
