It all depends on where you at, and what the demands are..Around here you would probably never sell the thing because this is a 2-stroke world...However if there are alot of raptors where you are then you might be able to do alright..

Your first mistake is taking it to a shop...if you care about the money that much get a reapir manuel and do the work your self.
Unless you know the people in the shop personaly they will rape you.

I guess I havent followed your particular issues so I may not know what I'm talking about here.

JE pistons are very very suspect, especially the 102mm 11:1(10.75:1). Wrist pin and other problems have been abundant. The stock rod is also a weak link in the raptor and should be replaced when you go over stock bore or more than 11:1 compression. Bad tuning can also cause all sorts of issues, not to mention bad installation.

As far as the dealer goes, they very well could be screwing you for every dollar they can. If you can find a shop thats not associated with a dealership, you would be better off. Most, but not all, will flat out lie to you about whats wrong with your bike and charge outrageous rates on top of a hefty labor rate. Not to mention paying 30-200 percent more for the parts they are going to reinstall. They typically have little incentive to do the job as well as they possibly could. As long as it runs, they get paid at the end of the day.

In any case, good luck with your bike and any future plans you have with or without it.

IMO the first mistake was taking it to the dealer and trying to let them fix it.

Unless you had a bad cam chain, I think that it could have been stretched one of the times the engine was taken apart. If you dont remove the tensioner, it will stretch the chain and all hell can break loose if its stretched too much. Just a thought.
