Default Metal in Oil Filter After First Change (Raptor 350)

2005 Raptor 350. I ran it past break in plus another 3-4 hours. I went to change the oil and found aluminum shavings in the filter. There were also metal shavings (i used a magnet). I was wondering if this is normal for the first oil change or if something may be wrong.

Thats cause it the first oil change since you broke it in. There should be less and less every time you do it.

Exactly:

The more oil changes, the less metal. If not there might be an issue. For the first one it would be suspect if there was NO metal.

well like in my recon they said its from striping gears (i striped them on purpose for wheelies) you might not be shifting correctly but if you know you are im not sure but my tip is call yamaha tell them the problem and they are gonna say "bring it in to us and let us look at it" tell them you wont have time your going on vacatin and whats the problem lol i hate dealers

Mine had the exact same thing after the first oil change.

Part of breaking in process since the gears inside are running for the first time there are going to be some metal shards the firts few oil changes are going to have metal nothing to be concerned about its normal for all atv`s.
