Default raptor wont start?

Thats the same thing that happened to mine. It ended up being the stator that went bad.

Like stallion said it could have a sticking float and flooded.
You need spark, compression and a good air/fuel mixture to run. It sounds like you have the first two.

Check the choke also, the spring will rust up and break and the plunger will stick.

Yeah If it's turning over good and sounds like it has compression and you have a good spark I would check the carbs.
Does it feel like the choke is working right when you swing the lever back and forth?

hey the cable for the choke moves i watched for that. and i tryied giving it gas instead of useing choke thisng the cable snapped but that didnt work.

ps. is it tru that you can bend a rod by holding the starting down and it not starting causeing the motor to flood with gas and cause pressure to bend a rod?

This is likley not the problem but have the valves been adjusted latley?? My 01 Raptor got to where is would not start and i had checked and tried everything and the mechanic at the yamaha shop told me to adjust the valves, so i did and it cranked right up and runs fine. Had a 660 grizzly do the exact same thing.

Here's another shot at your problem. Check your fuses under the seat, my step-brothers did the same thing and the problem was with the fuse. Also check for a short from the fuse block and go along the frame. I have seen a wire get rubbed to where it just has a little contact.
