I would like to know if anyone out there has any valve train & camshaft specs (lift/duration),piston specs, or any design (autocad, Pro-E,etc)drawings for the chassis? I want to do some modeling & analysis and require more info than I have read in the mags.

Rachel, perhaps the Yamaha engineers that designed the Raptor would be willing email you their design documents.

You mentioned that you wanted to do some modeling and analysis. Honestly, I don't think the 2 careers will work well together; you have to pick one. Either a model or an analyst.

If you want to wow people, start off with a softer touch.

So, what do you ride?

LOL, Very funny, When you do various analysis you take a mechanical or electrical system and actually convert it into a mathmatical model. This allows you to simulate system performance. It's kinda a hobby I have. You use the same model to compare different systems (in this case 4-wheelers).

I doubt anyone has these figures as of right now. I'm sure yamaha is still tinkering with the geometry of the frame. If I had a frame infront of me right now I could draw it up on autocad though... I work in an architectual office

Gary, I'm a QT Pi. I just shortened Pi down to 3.14 without the decimal & used that. This older gentleman that lives down the street says "Good morning Cutie Pie " when I run by. Thats where I got the idea for the screen name. I don't think I'm anything great looking. I'm just your average country girl. Ask LANMan, he knows me.
I don't have any riding pics yet. I went riding with some friends and they were afraid to take any cameras with us. I thought "DUH" I shoulda bought a disposable waterproof. I'll see if I can get some next time. You know, it is kinda funny when I blow some guys doors & then they find out I'm a girl. They get kinda bent about it. ESPECIALLY when their buds give them a hard time. The testosterone begins to reach critical mass & they have to prove themselves. It's amazing how well some guys can ride to re-establish their manhood. I'm not that good yet, but I have a good time. I'm still too cautious.
