108 octane in stock ds baja x???
#1
this guy says he runs 108 in his stock ds650 baja x. i thought for sure it would fry the vavles, he says it runs so much better with it in instead of pump gas. i have always heard of ppl frying their vavles because of too high of octane gas for the head in the machine. do you think this sounds like it would work on other models?

Wont hurt it, wont run any better, and I assume its leaded gas it may lubricate a little better.
What kind of 108 is it? is it oxygenated? How does high octane fry the valves in your experiences? Because I have not seen that happen yet, but ya never know.

all that is doing is making his quad slower than running pump gas because it burns slower. A stock DS650 motor don't have enough compression to require race gas so he's spending more money to go slower........

Never heard of frying valves with a higher octane fuel. Usually you do valve/piston damage by running too lean. Higher octane fuels usually run cooler/slower combustion and has no benefit unless you run high compression.
