I found the part number for the NCVQ needle 5TA-14916-V1-00

 

I'm not a jetting expert Trin, but from what I understand when you start getting into the mods, the ncvq is the better needle. Then you get into other richer needles once you run out of space on that needle. It's better to run a ncvq on say clip 3, than a stock needle on clip 6. Go to your search engine and type in "daddog racing". Go to the daddog jetting page, about 2nd from the top. That explains it about as best as I can think of. Good luck, go fast!

 

Can this NCVQ needle for the yfz be used with OEM jets that Yamaha provides at there shops???.... Or do you need to buy a "BRAND NAME" jet to work with this NCVQ needle???????....I hope my questions are not confusing......Thanks much for any info...

 

The ncvq needle is the needle that comes in the GYT-R jet kit it can be used with stock jets

Good idea giving that part number out. When I told the parts guy that I wanted a yz450 needle for my yfz450, he looked at me like I was an idiot. If I didn't have some kind of idea what I was looking for, he probably would have sold me a knitting needle. Like I said before, go to the daddog racing page...it explains a lot about the needles and jetting.

So whats the difference in the NCVQ needle and the YZ one? or are they the same?

The ncvq needle is a code for the yz450 needle. When you ask your dealer for a needle for a yz450, one of the codes next to the needle will be ncvq. It will also give options for richer needles such as ncvp and ncvn. The more mods, the more fuel needed thus the more needle.
