quad for 14 year old
2005YFZ450GUY,
We bought my son a YFZ 450 when he was 13, and he is now 14. This was his fifth ATV, and he has been riding for seven years, and he does very well on the YFZ. His only mishap has been falling off one time in some sand whoops, and he was not hurt in that fall. We were hillshooting at the dunes, and I had been beating him through the whoops on a highly modded V-Force (that had Ohlins shocks on it), so he kept pushing it more and more through the whoops until he found his limit. I guess you have to find your limit somehow, so no harm, no fowl, and he is improving as a rider all the time. I out weigh him by 100 lbs, so for regular drag racing on flat ground, or hillshooting without big whoops at the bottom of the hill, I can't touch him on his YFZ. We have drag raced at least a hundred times, and he has beat me every single time. Those YFZs are wicked fast, handle great, and for an experienced rider they are hard to beat. I personally wouldn't own one, because they are too small and cramped for an adult to ride comfortably, but they are the perfect size for a 14 year old.
