what would cause fuel to leak through the lower vent hose of a carburetor?? I assume it is the needle and seat, but am I right, or what else could it be?? I've noticed a puddle on the ground after letting my four wheeler sit overnight, tonight I shut the fuel off and will see in the morning if it is still leaking. thanks

Ain't likely the "needle," dondiesel8; float valve & seat, probably. If it leaks a little overnight; no biggie; just remember to shut off the tank petcock when you park it.

BTW, the leaking gas probably emerges from the dump tube (drain hose) instead of a "vent hose."

its your float valve level. the float is bent, i dont remember but bend it very little one way or another and try it, i saw somewhere how to maybe in tech connection.
