What is a good price on a used YFZ450?
Well I am starting to search for my next quad. I have never rode one of the new 450's. It seems a lot of people are getting rid of their raptors to get one. I may consider a raptor since they are going cheaper. I really loved my DS, but to get one and make it like mine was would cost big $$, I don't think I would be happy with a stock one ( kind of a mental thing) although Even at stock I'm sure I would like it at the dunes better, but the dunes here are only open 6 months out of the year, the rest of the year is trail riding, open fields so that is why I am considering the 450. I really like the idea of having a 350# quad since I weigh 150.
I found one for 4600, the only mods is has are the Yamaha slip on and air box lid removed. It has approx 50 hrs on it.
Thanks for any input..

I've rode both the YFZ and 450r, both piped and jetted only. The 450r is a smoother ride the YFZ had more power, not a drastic difference in power but noticable. That sux you've never recovered your quad. I'd think $4600 would be a fair price.

If I'm not mistaken you were one of the unfortunate soles that had all that trouble with knutz also. Go through all that and then have it stolen, I feel your pain.
At 150lbs and the basic mods to the YFZ or 450r I don't think you'll be displeased at all. I've seen and raced a few fast 450's as well. I'd think the real questions would be to kick or not to kick start. Yamahas skeptical reliability issues vs Hondas seemingly reliability. Less expensive kick start a bit slower vs more expensive push button start a bit faster.
Good luck with the new quad and may it stay safe.

Yup, I waited almost a year to get my motor back from Knutz, did several things to the motor since then too. The motor was on alky, so unless the guy that stole it knows about this stuff, I'm sure who ever has it is having some problems.

Well I must have missed out on the deal, I told the guy not to sell it, and give me a day to figure how to ship it, because I had a lot of shipping options, a day later, after several calls and eamils with no replies, I figure he sold it. So the search is on again.
