Default Blaster Problems

If you kick starter will move then its not seized up, but you might have some piston damage. Save yourself alot of trouble and pull the reeds first.

Default Blaster Problems

Before you start tearing it up, do the compression test. If you are at 130 minimum, no need to do the top end. 130, by the way, is my opinion. Let us know what you register. You'll have to take the tank off to do the comp test

Default Blaster Problems

Alright, well, i got the top end off, and, to me, nothing looks wrong, but i cant really see much. All i can see is the top of the piston and the sleeve when i move the piston down. I also pulled the reeds and they look fine, but here is pictures of everything. Also, how do i check the compression. My dad has some gauges downstairs and i figure one of them has to do with it. reeds top end

Default Blaster Problems

Do your reeds seal tightly against the cage, or are they loose. If they don't seal right you will have a hard time starting, and it won't run for very long.

What were you doing when it died? Wide open, or just puttin' along?

The reeds do seal tightly around the cage.

How would you describe that it died? Lack of fuel causing it to hesitate when you hit the throttle and the more throttle you give it the more it hesitates, or too much fuel causing it to bog and smoke?

The first way you said, about giving it more throttle the more it hesitates.

From what you are saying, it would be my guess that you have a lean condition. If he has added a pipe and scilencer AND a filter he should of jetted up a fair amount, expecially on the main. Like you said, he sill have a stock main jet which is 230. That should be at least a 260-270 if not more depending on the altitude and tempature. If it was lean it would be real hard to start like you said it was. Also it would die and cut out because it's not getting enough fuel. When you pour gas down into the carb the extra gas makes up for the lean condition causing it to run for a while.

I think it's in your best bet to put it all back together, step up the jetting a bit and try it out. Then if it dosn't work start into the motor. There is no sence in tearing it all apart without trying this first.

Alright, i guess i'll go put it back together. he still has to go and get the jet kit back from the shop though. Alright, thanks for your help, and once I rejet it, i'll get back to you guys. Once again, thanks for all of your help, and if you have anymore ideas, keep em coming.
