Default 04 grizzly temp light on

i was trail riding this saturday and i noticed that my temp light was flashing on and off
(air temp outside was aboue 45deg)
i felt the hoses and the were only warm
later that day after many stops, the whole ride home the light stayed on
now heres the thing the air temp was pretty cold...the mudholes were icing over
if i shut off atv and then turned the key on the fan would run maybe 10sec then shut off
hoses still only warm
light still stayed on
i chaulked it up as a electical problem and drove another25 miles like this
i know in the summer when the atv really is hot if i shut off and then turned key on the fan would run for 2-4 mins sometimes
so i know i really wasn't overheating
can low coolant level make light come on???
(was dark out and jug muddy could tell level)
do i need a new sensor
wire short???
please help!!!!!
this is annoying and pretty much makes the light useless cause i know i was never hot

Check the coolant level. And also check to see if the wire to the sensor, under the gas tank and on the head, is still attached. I believe its a white wire with blue stripe.

I'm not sure, but on the raptors, the temp light will flash on and off when you hit the rev limiter too long. It will do this until you to the bike off and crank it back up. It's a yamaha and basically the same engine, so that may only be the cause. Did it quit flashing after you turned it off and turned it back on?

I still bet you it's the wire on the temp sensor. My buddies 02 did it and it looked connected but the wire had corroded off.Try looking again. When it goes (open) it will trip the light.I have seen posts in the past referring to this issue on Grizzs and it was the wire....good luck
