'91 Big Bear - Front Bearings
#1
Help !!!!.
I have a '91 Big Bear 350 4x4 SE
I was riding on the weekend and noticed the front was wobbly. When I lifted the front end the wheels moved in my hand ( a sure sign of bearings gone bad.)
This is my repair since I bought it last year. I took the wheels off, in the presence of a buddy of mine that more versed in ATVs than I. Bearings were also his opinion. Yamahas are apparently bad on bearings...
My question?
I want to do the whole front end and want to know what parts should I get to do the job right. i.e. how many bearings/seals per wheel.
Also, what cost should I anticipate?
Thanks

Take your bearings with race and seals to a Bearing supply store. Any good parts house or mechanic shop can steer you to one. There they will be able to match up your part numbers with a good sealed bearing such as Timken. They will probaly be cheaper than replacing at the Yahama shop. Oh yea, be sure that you carry parts that have readable numbers. Some may be so worn that the numbers are not visible. They must have good clear numbers to cross reference.
