Wassup with new muffler prices?
#1
I have been totally flabbergasted at what all these companies get for a new muffler. There is NO way ANY new muffler for ANYTHING should cost $200-$300 . So much for my rant. I have a Kerker aftermarket muffler from a street bike (plenty large). Is there any reason I should not use it on my Rappy? It will fit nicely but will probably need a repack.

I can think of many reasons why you shouldnt use your streetbike can on the raptor, but the most obvious is the fabricating needed to install it. Even if you use the stock header, you will still have mounting and fitment issues. Not to mention the fact that atv and street bikes are typically tuned for different types of engines so your pipe designed to hit the sweet spot at 10k rpm is not going to work nearly as well on an atv kicking out max power at 7500 and cruising at 4500.

Why do they cost soo much? beacause soo many dolts are willing to pay that much. You could buy a small block chevy for the price of a good system and gain a bit more huh

But whats more complicated? an aluminum can with stuffing or a a 30 inch TV with atleast 1 computer and tons of gadgetry. I think you should see why the muffler should cost more.
