Hard throttle
#1
Got an 88 Warrior from the original owner. I've always had to adjust the thumb trottles on each quad I get. I couldn't find a place where my thumb wouldn't get sore or numb after 10 minutes of riding. Last trip out we stopped a couple of times, moved it up, nope. Moved it back. Nope. made sure there was a nice curve in it and free of kinks. Then a friend borrowed it and it killed his thumb too, and he swings hammers all day. I'm NOT switching to a twist. I just don't like them. Everybody already suggested that. The guy I bougt it from said it NEVER had a new one put on. Should I replace the cable and housing? Or would it be easier to take it off and spray it down with penetrating oil? I think it has barrels on both ends, so I don't think I could just pull the cable out and clean it out.
Also is there places in the lever it self that I can do something to make it easier?
Has anyone had this problem before? If so what was the best fix? I'd like to do it right the first time, even if it means new trottle lever assembly, cable and housing. Unless there's somethng I'm missing.
BTW we ruled out lever extenders. That thing is just TIGHT.
Thanks in advance for any help.

just replace the cable, i had a similar problem with my 89 warrior. I found it to be better to just switch to a twist throttle anyway. I bought it with a thumb but i think warriors have heavy springs in their carb because they are built bullet proof.
