My friend has a 400ex bored over to a 440, he has that done to it and a big gun slip on, thats all, he wants to drag race my raptor, dmc full exhaust, big gun rev limiter, k&n pro flow intake system, k&n power lid. He claims he can spank me anytime, im not to sure, im not saying its a bad quad or anything but i think hes wrong this time, what do you guys think? thanks for all the info.

it may come down to your riding skills

race him and post the results

It has the potential to be a close race

either that or you will spank him

I agree with bing. It'll come down to rider, but it will be a really close close race. Race and find out for us!!

Better be a strong running ex. Because I have watched a 440 with several sparks goodies get beat by a stock raptor.

11:1 ex, sparks race cam, 41mm fcr, +1 valves.
vs.
stock 02' raptor

the raptor won by 1-2 lenghts in 275-300 yard race on pavement. everytime.

ex would get the jump out of the hole, then the raptor would squeeze by at about 200yards, get a 1-2 lenght lead, then the race would end.

It doesn't sound like he has that 440 set up right................You should take him.

440ex's require ALOT more than just the overbore and a slip-on. To make it really work it needs to be ported, oversized valves, aggresive cam, full exhaust(not slip-on), high comp piston, and an aftermarket carb. Boring it to a 440cc by itself is really not going to be very impressive at all.

Go ahead and race him, then if you really want a race tell him all the things he "should" do to it to make it rip.

I would say the raptor will walk away, my 440ex with all the mods I have will barely run with a stock raptor. I think the only way I would beat a modded raptor would be because of rider error.
