Default 2006 YFZ450?

When will these be out? Got the go ahead from the wife to get one as soon as I sell my sports memorabillia collection. Any known changes etc? How are the 450s on the slower mountain trails? Won't be ridden there often as I'll keep my Prairie, but it will be on the trails occasionally. Thanks.

I have an 04 and love it. I trail ride, dune ride and everything in between. You get used to the seat after a few rides so dont let that deter you. Also I run 91-92 octane with no problems to date with just regular matinence like a car, just follow the manual. If you want a pure bread speed machine get the YFZ. Thanks. It will be 75% dunes, the rest trails. I'm fine with maintaining my bikes. What other bike is more of a trail bike that's this good on the dunes and racing as well, just while we're talking?

We run 91 octane straight up in the YFZ, just like all our quads. No pings knocks or nothing.

Raptors seem to do pretty well in the dunes and trails too. My dad just bought a 05. The only thing I dont realy like about it is the top heavy feeling of it compared to the YFZ.

Do you have any formula for octanes vs. compression ratios?

ex. 11:1 = 92 octane min.
11.1:1 = 93 octane min.

and so on?

So your saying YAMAHA doesn't have a clue as to what fuel they should be using?
