You need those hoses on there for the carbs to vent properly and to keep crud out of the carbs. That's probably why you need to clean out the carbs now. The other end just goes into a bracket at the lower rear of the engine.

doesnt look hard to take the carbs off...or am i wrong? also what do u clean them out with?, and is there anything i should look out for incase i screw something up? maybe the jets or something?

Try a can of carb cleaner and some compressed air. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

Dont forget to clean the slow air jets also. When you take the air filter off look straight on at the carb looking into the round part where the filter clamps onto. Right on the round part of the carbs you will see a small hole, there is a small jet in there that can be removed and cleaned also.

Everyone forgets about those and never cleans them.

Be careful using carb cleaner, it will eat some of the plastic and rubber parts. Disconnecting the throttle cable is probably the hardest part of removing them and that's no biggie. You'll want to use a phillips screwdriver that's in perfect condition to loosen the thottle cover and bowl screws (they round out REAL easy) and a small pair of vice grips would be handy to for the stubborn ones.
