RAPTOR FRONT END QUESTION. Long Travel, +2 +3 ??
#1
Ok everyone here is a question for ya.
I am thinking of updating my front suspension with new A arms and shocks..
I am not into full blown racing but ride trails and get air every chance I can...
I read that long travel A arms change the handling alot..I dont think I want to do that if it does..But if its not a huge change I think the extra wheel travel would be a nice bonus.
Then its either +2 or +3 extended ...Not sure on this one..Does either have a down side?? Besides making you to wide to fit between something.
The question is what do I go with and why..Their up sides and their down sides..
HELP on this would be AWESOME!!!!!!!
Long Travel?
STD Travel?
+2
+3
Thanks,

try to keep it as narrow as possible if you dont race so i wpuld say +2
the std travel should be enough if you have some aftermarket or 450 shocks
to put on. most trail ridin doesnt use up enough travel to justify the xtra cost of l.t.

the raptor is 43.3 inches wide which is very narrow so i would say +3. go STD travel, with long travel you have to buy shocks and its usually an extra $200 for the A-arms.

if your honestly that serious about running your raptor in mx and are lloking to be a contender, dump that rappy and get a yfz450. raptor are very narrow as you prob know. running in the sand i know that your going to like it better if you leave stock width and get a nice set of shocks...TCS, or elka. vs. +2 arms on your yfz450 shocks. but if your willing to dump the money in you rappy for long travel, get a gibson front end mated to a elka long travel, approx 2k, you love it im sure. i know nothing about mx, but im going plus two on my rappy next month, plus 3 is way to wide for me, also are you going +1 forward any?
