Thanks for the help everyone. One more question, what do you have to do to the jetting if you remove the airbox lid with the stock pipe? Can I just adjust the mixture screw and move the clip on the needle down, or do I need to change the main also? It runs fine now if you take the airbox lid off, so I wouldn't think it would be too much of a change in jetting. We didn't run it too long like that, I'm sure it was a little lean. It seems like its rich with the airbox lid on anyway.

Bump up the main one size. You shouldn't need to change the needle clip and turn your mix screw in a bit, that should put you right where you need to be.

Cool thanks. I thought turning the screw in would make it leaner?

No, by turning it in you are blocking off the air passage that allows air into the idle circuit. The air screw only controls the idle and pilot circuit, so adjusting it really does nothing once you start to rev your bike, thats when the needle and main take over. If your pilot and main are properly adjusted then your needle should really be in the middle clip, but sometimes it dosn't always happen that way.

OK, thanks. I havn't messed with a blaster before. I'm familiar with the basics of jetting pilot=0 to 1/4 throttle, needle=1/4 to 3/4 and main=3/4 to wot. I've jetted my 250r a lot, I guess the Blaster is basically the same, I'm just not familiar with the main jet sizes of the blaster.

Stock main is 230. If your going to remove the lid you'll probably be best off one size up. Depending on the tempature and elevation of your area you might go to a 250, or 260 in a extreme case, but 240 will probably do you right.
