Default Getting ready to try out the 4mm Banshee

Finally, I have the 4mm Banshee all together and ready to get her tuned in. I have a crazy amount of porting hours in these jugs and put in an override tranny. Atoka sand drags will be running their test and tune on Feb 26 and we will be there. My wife will be running her new 350R motor there as well. Hope to see some of you,Bubba

Please excuse this question, but as you can see I'm just visiting...What is an override trans, and do other bikes like 250Rs use them?

An over-ride tranny is when you cut the tranny gears in a certain way that enables you to shift from first through third under full acceleration with out using the clutch or letting off the throttle.

Actually on a Banshee most go with a 1-5 or a 2-5 override.I run a 1-5.I've heard of a few 1-6's but they break really easily from what I understand. The only drawback is no trail riding, drag only.I hope to have my new 350 done for Atoka but it doesn't look promising.I may look into the Cheeta Cub cylinders this year too.

You mean your supposed to let off the throttle?
But seriously I thought you didnt have to let off the throttle on a 2-stroke (note I have an automatic). The YZ125 I had I didnt need the clutch after I got it moving, but it may not have been working correctly.
