banshee top ends

is it true you have to replace the top ends after like 5 or 10 rides?what if you dont replace the top end that often,will it screw up the bike at all? also,is it neccary if you dont ride it hard at all,just stuff i wanna know before getting one.thanks for your help

i heard somewhere that every 40-50 hrs your should rering the pistions. But i re ring like 1 - 11/2 yrs of riding. ou will know when the bike needs new rings. the power wont be there especially in the top end.

ALOT DEPENDS ON YOUR PRE MIX, AIR LEAKS, AND RIDER, IN MY EXPERIANCE. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT JUST DID HIS FIRST TOP END LAST YEAR. ONTHE OTHER HAND MY BROTHER IN LAW NEEDS NEW PISTONS EVERY YEAR, HE KEEPS LEANING IT OUT. I HAVE BEEN RUNNING MY 99 HARD SENCE NOVEMBER OF 1998.

ok thanks,i guess ill just listen to the motor and how it rides,it also depends on how much money i have left over also.thanks alot,bye

The true measure of topend wear is a compression check.
