if your going to stay with yamaha then i would say get a raptor 660. it would fit you perfectly. since you live in Massachusetts im guessing there are a lot of trails so the Raptor would be a good choice. plenty of power so you wont get bored with it. if you dont want to spend a lot pick one up used like a 2002 or higher. (try and stay away from 2001s they some had tranny problems)

hey i'm a big guy and i like my warrior just fine 6'1 300 it has done ever thing i need it to do. sure the rap and the 450 will smoke it but arond here the trails i ride they are hard to run wide open. i thought my warrior was small at first but after riding it a while i got very comfy on it and to me thats ever thing.

Is the Suzuki z400 a reliable bike similar to the yamaha. I guess im not so hard set on the "yamaha" name so much as what will fit me right and also what will have enuf power to keep me happy once i have more experience. My neighbor has a friend who had a z400 and apparently had many problems. Could just be a fluke i guess.

in early production they had axle that bend easy and common fram breaks just over the front shock mounts but my friends 2003 was all set. i was not a suxuki fan but i will say that the z 400 is a nice machine. but it never fails u will always want more power or at least i do

I have been online looking at local dealerships and the z400 is cheaper than the 660, thats a good thing. I am also checking out the TRX450R, any thoughts on hondas. I have never really been a honda/kawasaki guy. Not for any particular rreason other then im not a huge fan of green or red. haha.

I have a raptor 350 and love it but it needs to be wider and if i had the money i would get the yfz 450 hands down i love em and about the 450R i would i like it but with no electric start it kind of puts a damper on it to me it would suck if every time you crossed a creek and holding your feet up to stay dry and it stall and there you are sitting there kicking it off in watter or get on a hill and stall and start trying to kick off on side of a hill.

1st of all ill b the 1st honda guy to say the 450r is not as good as a yfz but it will start up everytime in 1 or 2 kicks the other day it was sooo cold at my house i couldnt get my quad started (it has electric start) my bro comes out and it starts 1st kick i finally got my started and we went ridign thru all the snow and one time he stalled it he put on the hot start and it started 2nd or 3rd kick its not that hard i dont see why everyone thinks it is its not lik its a 4 cylinder 4 wheel drive v-twin trying to kick start it it so easy and i find the power to b plenty

also if your so worried they have a auto clutch kick for it so u will never stall it also if u dont lik red it also comes in black or u can just buy new plastics for it but if u get it 1st mod will deff b HRC kit
