retorque my head bolts when I fixed my decompression pin. NOW I have coolant coming out reserve bottle. Coolant in my oil. No oil in the coolant. But the quad was still running great and I couldn't figure out why my fan did not come on. Until I figured it was just blowing it out and not getting over heated. I'm pretty sure it is my head bolts, after going through a search on here. But if you think it is something else let me know. My plan is I'm pulling the head and the cylinder to check everything. I need the best place and price for a new head and bottom gaskets???

 

Ripperracing.com has the cometic head and base gaskets for $28 I believe. You could always try retorquing the head bolts again before tearing it all down.

 

I tore it down tonight. I checked the torque and it seemed fine. But I decided to pull the head. Thanks for the input.

 

Im gonna tear mine down on thursday...its spitting coolant out the bottle too [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] Why doesnt this happen when the bike is new and has been ridden for a while?

 

I know it sucks. I was turning it over (by hand) and the piston at the bottom stroke slaps the bottom of the cylinder. When I pulled the cylinder off I noticed that the shape of the piston lower part is on the cylinder front side. It is not grooved it looks like a picture of it. Normal, not normal.

 

All back together and running (up and down my street). No coolant coming out.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Thanks wshrdskin, picked up my gasket from ripper and also purchased the heatseeker temp gauge. Tight fit with the inline cooler but I made it work. Now I have to wait until the first weekend in March to run it in the dunes.
