Well, get the best CT kit you can get, it comes with the Full Exhaust, Jet Kit, and pro-Flow... it improves the raptors performance GREATLY and is amoung one of the best full kits avaliable.

If you dont mind loosing 3-4mph...go with a 12 tooth front sprocket...you will not go as fast as before, but you will accelerate faster.
You can also add a Hot Cams Stage 1, without getting TOO into the engine. Pretty much adding a pipe/intake/jet kit along with the 12T will make it fast enough.

REMOVING one tooth off the front sprocket will get you up the dune faster. The hot cam stage 1 is EASY to install if you know what you are doing. Ebay usually has them from $100-125. Just get yourself a repair manual or go to Raptor Tranny and follow their instructions

This is a question for 250Rfattty. I read that on your 2003 Raptor 660 you just removed the Spark arrestor/baffle and took the airbox lid off and just jetted up a couple mains and how does the quad run compared to stock? I want to add a pipe, intake, and jet kit but do not want to spend 500 bucks to do it. I assume you have the stock headers and i am sure you installed a K&N air filter but did you see improvements by doing what you did rather than getting a full after market exhaust. Any feedback would be appreciated

I have the stock filter still, i just drilled a hole in the airfilter base (the white thing) and the airbox, and put a screew threw it to hold them together snug. I then removed the Lid, And took out the baffle, it ran like junk befor i jetted, but after i jetted i can honestly say i did feel a rather good bump in power. IT pulls up the front end alot easier, and the raptor really likes to revv out more. Dirtwheels did a test with just airbox lid, and said a 4hp increase now, you can do all that and just get two main jets for 5$ each, if just getting main jets, do 160/165, but i reccomend the GYT-R Jet kit, it comes with larger Piolit jets, needles and an assortment of mainjets, and full instructions on how to jet. really smooths out the power and i feel more powerall over, not nearly as much as a full exhaust and pro-flow, but good enough for my tastes.

I do not recommend following 86lt250's example and drilling a hole in the top of your filter to keep it mounted with the airbox lid off. The seal around the air filter is significantly compromised and will let all kinds of dust, dirt, and water through. Either get an appropriate method for mounting an air filter, or leave enough of the lid on to keep the filter in place.
