Default How do i remove warrior stator cover

To make a long story short I thought I blew my gears out on my warrior but it was something very simple that i overlooked. Everything is running fine but after I started to take some things apart, once i put them back together I noticed oil was leaking out of my stator cover side on the bottom. When i was trying to remove it, it would only come out about a half inch then felt like it was being pulled back in by a spring or something. I have to get this piece off because the the gasket is messed up and it will not seal properly causing the slow leak. Am I missing something with taking this thing apart. It there some other step i need to do to get it apart, i dont want to pry on it and cause more damage so any help would be greatly appreciated.

are you tolking about the left side cover ? if so the stater is magnetic and the springing you are feeling is the magnitisom if i remember correctly. i went to the shop to look at my book but i forgot its not here but i'm pritty sure just remove the bolts and pull off.i don't remember oil being in there. the other side { clutch side } has oil though.

That is the side I am talking about, so you think it is just the magnetic energy holding it together? I didn't think oil should of been in there also but apparently there is. The quad doesn;t smoke or anything so I assumed that is ok. SO should I just pry it apart then? Hope someone can clear this up so i dont really mess things up. Thanks

Actually the cover is what i was having a problem with, had nothing to do with the magnet. I had to grip the bolt on the outside then use a socket to turn it off then the opposite to put it back in. All better now.
