kod 450 problem/ dig dash, starter, and winch help
it started out my winch would take up slowly when plowing, then i noticed that the dash would go blank, then i would shut it down and the n i couldnt start it. the starter would just click. i took it to the dealer and they said my battery terminals were lose(ya right) they also replaced the solenoid for a $140. and the extended covered the rest. WELL i just started it to get ready for tomm. and the same stuff started happening. now i cant get the plow up and down because the winch can barely lift it and all the other problems started
what now, after its fixed if i can should i dump it and get a new one or different brand
thanks

i personally never had this problem... but what it sounds like is either A) battery is toast, because it was drained to much, B) you have a constant current draw on your battery... or C) your quad isn't charging the battery....
Battery voltage should be roughly somewhere from 13.4 to 14.3 when charging.... and about 12.0 to 13.0 no load, charged.... if your battery is really low... your winch won't work at all...

I dont see why the solinoid was replaced. Its very rarely a problem, and almost never a problem on new quads. Are you using the winch with the motor off? Those things are real power hogs, and if the motor isnt running, itll sap a battery quick.
If you have a voltmeter, hook it up to the battery, note the voltage, start it up, and check the voltage while its cranking. If it drops to 10 volts or less, it needs to be charged, and if it continues to do it, even after the chage, pull the battery, and have it load tested.
Once the motor is running, check the voltage while winching, again, if it gets below 10 volts, the battery is probably junk. Now rev the motor, to about 3000rpm, and check voltage there. It should get to about 14 volts, if it does..then the chargeing system is ok.
Dont think about getting rid of it, its most likely a bad battery.
If you cant do the checks yourself, just take the battery to any auto parts store (napa or similar), and get a load test done. Im betting its bad.
