i dont know anything of the King quad...

my dad has a 04 griz and the only problems that he has had with it is low speed it does get quite hot, but thats an easy fix, he put on a larger cooling fan with a manual switch and a digital water temp readout...
Everyone always says the brakes make a funny sound and such, yea it seems to, but from my experience its not the brakes at all but the belt breaking away from the clutch assembly when the wheels lock...
overall Id go with the Griz, but as i said i know nothing of the kingquad, other than my dad has pulled his share of em out of mud pits...

 

Do a search. The king quad has a problem with reverse.

 

Get on the suzuki forum site and you will find some very unhappy KQ owners. I shouldn't put them down since I don't own one but I got a grizzly instead of a KQ last tuesday and I LOVE it! I started out wanting a KQ, Brute force, or Grizz, After eliminating KQ for reverse,I was down to a grizz or brute. I ended up going with the grizz cause it just looked better in my opinion. Thats not a good reason for deciding on a quad I must admit, but I am happy with my decision. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I love my 05 Grizz. It has been great...you can read lots of good things if you do a search. A big factor for me in buying the grizz was that it's a tried and tested model...been around for several years. From what I've read all the bugs have been worked out and it's reliable. I almost got the KQ before all the hub bub about the reverse but decided against it b/c new models often have problems...glad I got the grizz.

if your not extremely impatient like myself, i would wait on the KQ reverse problems to get fixed and then pick one up...i rode one and that thing has serious power...i havent rode a grizzly in a while so i cant really compare...i just loved the KQ. but if your wanting a quad soon i would go with the grizz...
