Default I need help with a YFA1 Breeze

98 or 99 YFA1 Breeze

I need to tear it down to find the source of an odd noise in the tranny, and I need a new needle and seat. So far I have not found either one! The needle and seat seams to be Yamaha only, or might as well be for the price. And the only manuals I can find is a yamaha factory service manual, $60.00 + !!
Does anyone know of an alternative needle that will work? How about a repair manual?

Thanks

I have seen the manuals on ebay for $8.00 lately. What kind of noise are you hearing? You maybe right on the needle and seat from Yamaha or you may again look on ebay.

The manual I needed was the factory service manual, since I needed to split the cases to determine what was wrong in the tranny. It sounds like a broken tooth on a gear, or a bad bearing. It appears that the oil seal behing the sprocket was bad and leaked the gear oil. The owner of the bike doesn't want to invest any more money into it.
Thanks for the reply.

I had the same problem with my 2003 breeze less than 40 hours on it. Was riding it the other day and it sounds like the forward gear gave out, heard a grinding sound engine died and wont start now just purchased a repair manual on eBay going to attempt to repair myself since my local shop wants $800+ to repair. Did you have any luck repairing yours?? how difficult was it
