That is why I always say brake right. IF you remember that the head on collisions shouldnt happen. As for helmets If im on my quad my helmet is on with me. As for those who dont believe in wearing one, Darwins natual selection is all I can say

My buddy and I used to race motocross until this summer. There was a double section that had 4 doubles in a row so u had to hit them all or none. So he had the fisrt two and on the third one no one knows what happened. We have watched it on tape 100 times but he came up short and got thrown over the bars. the fourwheeler continued to roll flipping end over end at one point the grab bar came down and hit him in the back of the head and litterally wrapped the grab bar around the helmet. He was life flighted and was in Critical condition for 4 days. When he cam ehome he didnt remember any of the race even though his wreck was on the last lap. He says he remembers the gate dropping and thats it then he hears the helicopter coming. Thats scary **** We alwasy wore our helmets before but after seeing this on tape and in person and hearing what he remebers it makes one a little hesitant to go back out and race. Not to mention to be thankful. If that bar had hit 1 inch lower we wouldnt be going riding together again... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wear those helmets

Gwinnwarrior, I got to tell you for a 20 year old you've got your head screwed on RIGHT!
When I was your age I did some stuiped stuff. I really should not be here today. I had no fear at that age. Used to brake 150 MPH in a Trans am with 4 Buddys on board just to prove it would do it. Had a croach rocket that had a 180 on the speedometer and had to see if it would do it. Lost a good buddy trying the same and sold mine. Now that I'm older and wiser and got a wife and kid it kinda of makes me sick to my stomach thinking how stuiped I was.
I think what I'm trying to say is Life is full of accidents waiting to happen but why push it. Instead realize the bad things that can happen and take precautions to prevent it! I think your Post will help some people to put a Helmet on. Good job!!!

My friend has a yfz450 and ALWAYS wears his helmet and is usual the one making a big deal about anybody else riding without one. Well one day we decided to ride up to the store on a back road and he didn't put on his helmet. I thought it was kind of wierd but figured he is a big boy. We got there fine but on the way back a three minute ride back to the house turned into a several hour ordeal. He was pulling a wheelie and his foot slipped off the peg, the tire pulled him off and under the bike(he had no heel guard), and he slammed his face on the ground. I didn't know what to do and he was unconcience. I felt like I couldn't leave him there but what if a car didn't come by for another hour or longer? So finally I rode as fast as I could to the store and told them where he was and to call for an ambulance. I pushed the bikes into the woods and rode in the ambulance. He ended up with several stiches, a concusion, and a lot of bruising. It was the scariest hour of my life. I always have and always will wear at very least my helmet, gloves, and goggles(and 95% of the time my boots). Needless to say he and a lot of our friends have learned from his mistake.

i have to admit to not wearing a helmate. HOWEVER the only time i do so is from pulling my bikes outta my garage to up above in my drive way to get ready for a ride or to load on the trailer, the only other time i do so is going about 5mph after putting a new part on to make sure the bike is OK..

my friends brother wanted to take my RM250 for a ride, i was like sure, he owned the bike before me and obivously knew it quite well, he hopped on it, and i was like man take my helmate, he was like nah, and i was like man this bike no helmate your crazy, i was like no helmate dont ride it, well he took it, and was going around a turn in my road at prolly 45-50, dumped the bike right into a curb, i am darn sure without a helmate he wouldnt have been riding the bike back to my house. funny think was dirtbikes you can crash at 50, and not scratch em, do that to a quad and its all over.

heres another one for you guys. my brother was riding his sportsman 500, at about 2mph, through the woods, well a tree snapped back, and hit him square in the head, he had to take his shirt off to stop bleeding, luckily we were near the house. but a helmate again could have stopped it.

most recent time was me on my 400ex, went straight back in a wheelie, not paying attention, had my helmate on luckily because i hit my head darn hard i could feel it through the helmate, i walked away, if it werent for wearing protection, i dont know where my brain might have been.

they call it a helmate for a reason- if you dont wear one your gonna go to H.E.L.L MATE!!

thanks man, you are not the first person to tell me this.
Some of my friends think im a tight@ss sometimes because i have all my ducks in a row. They all give me crap because im like the only 20 year old around here with his own dental and health insurance.......dont tell anybody but i already started my retirement IRA through State Farm and work. i get alot of beef for my retirement fund, but hey, when i retire right now if i keep putting in the bare minimum i should retire with half a mill. So well see whos picking on who then right?

I always wear my helmet, goggles, and boots, as well as gloves.
I would hate to lose a close friend, or even any ATV rider, because i think all of us atv riders are a family, a very diverse family coming from many walks of life.
Even though we may not all get along or see eye to eye, we should still keep an eye out for one another.

One thing we all can agree on is that "Life is very precious"
