new quad???

alright i currently own a 01' 300ex. with a full FMF system, K&N filter, and its been re-jeted. i have some other stuff like DG front bumper, Kenda rear tires, hand guards, ect. iv had it for about a year now. i got it for my 16th birthday. and as most people would say. you always want more power. same goes with me. i want a new 4 wheeler. my neighbor just bought a new 400ex. (stock) we draged a few times, and i beat him everytime. ( but hes new and doesnt know how to ride yet.... and im sure he would beat me eventually) anyway, so now i dont know what i should get. is it worth selling my quad for a 400ex? is the 400ex really that much better then mine is now? or should i just save up and get a 450R?

450R is stupid fast. Stock that bike scared the hell out of me. It can smack a 400ex silly without even breaking a sweat. If you have the coin buy it right and buy it once. However the 400ex is a good bike

When I was shopping for a new quad, it was a tough call between the 450r and the raptor. I went with the raptor because of the torqey motor and the reverse! Electric start is nice too, but it's just a perk. I find myself using reverse a lot on the trails. Don't worry about me being biased toward yamaha, I used to own a honda dirt bike. The 450r is sweet, it just didn't fit the types of places I ride as well as the raptor.

you could just get a 350cc big bore kit and it would save you money and you wouldnt have to start all over with buying performance parts. Also you would loose quite a bit of money if you sold your 300ex

yea...i rode my neighbors 400ex today. (stock) not really much different then my somwhat modded 300ex. i noticed better acceleration and better top end. but not as much..."Grunt" as i thought it was. so maybe i should just get the 450?? i dont wanna start a huge discusion about whats better YFZ vs 450R. i have always been a Honda owner. .... i guess i have heard that the YFZ was made a little bit more toward the racing type of person. (which i dont plan on doing anytime soon). and the 450R is more of a High speed trail runner (which i do ALOT) and i heard that the YFZ engine is a very high reving engine...like top HP is at 9500rpm or somthing....compared to the 450R's top HP at like 7400rpm. and i know i do want reliability over performance. so in my mind, the honda 450R would be the one for me.
just a few more questions. is the 450R really a arm pulling machine? even in its stock form? (compared to my 300ex) or will it need alot of mods until i get that? 1 more question. in a flat out drag race, say both drivers are equalliy talented in driving, a stock 400ex vs a stock 450R in a 500ft drag.......how would the race end up? at the start? in the middle? at the end of the race?

450r definetly wouild win that drag xracerZ. The 450r will throw you off if you can't hang onto it, the R is fast and pulls all the way through, just like it never stops. It has the power to whip the 400ex. Start of the race the ex is done. r takes the holeshot and the EX doesn't really gain within 400ft. because the r is pulling
