I have a stripped bolt that i need to take out to change my oil, but have no way to get it out because it is rounded off. I bought some stripped bolt rachet sets but they don't fit. Anyone have any suggestions?

Try some vice grips.. But make sure that there super super tight.. it should come out then.. thats what I use when I strip a bolt.

If the vice grips don't get it, I would use an "easy-out" or a bolt extractor. They sell them at just about any hardware store. I like the ones that ACE has. You get one that is a little smaller than the bolt you are trying to get out, drill into it a little with a bit for metal (preferably a very strong one) titanium and I think there is one other stonger kind. Then you put the extractor in it and tap it (LIGHTLY) a little with a hammer until you can turn it and get it to catch. Then slowly try to back the bolt out. NOTE: do NOT break the extractor off in the bolt...i have done this by accident and it is dmn near impossible to get it out and try again. Anyway good luck.

 

if none of that works weld a nut to the bolt then just take it out

 

If you cant get to it, with a vise grip, try using a 6 point socket, (and you may have to hammer it on), if the head is really defromed, but that should get er done.
