I had a real nice race with my raptor(pipe, filter, and cam) against a 2005 450r with a pipe. I also at the time had these huge 22in Duro Excavator tires on, and a 12 tooth front sprocket. With 20's, i can shoot out of the hole in 2nd gear fno problem, but with these tires i had to start in first. Anyway, we went and he got about a 1/2 bikelength jump on me, like my front tires were at his pegs until i hit 3rd, then i just pulled and pulled all the way until the end. I entered the race thinking i was gonna get smoked, those new big bad 450's, so it was just an experiment, but what a great race, i was happy.---RIder1169

me and my buddies race bout 350ft in my feild.. ones got a 02 rapy 12 tooth front sproket, HMF slip on & filter (210) and another friend has a TRX450R wid Dr.D slip, filter hot cam stage 1, lower 1 tooth front sprocket, and hes got 18 inch hole shots (also plus 4 axle and plus 2 on each side a arms) (145)...
ight you can see my mods below and im 145..
i can drag really really good so if im on the rapy i can come close to the 450r .. i draged him 4 times .. tied once was on his back wheels once and other 2 times i lost but it was less then a quad length.. if the owner of the wheeler is on it he doesnt come as close.. i launch his rapy in 2nd gear and same with the 450r kid launches in 2nd gear..
me on my wheeler vs the rapy.. i always win but theres also the weight difference..
me on my wheeler vs the 450r kid same weight 145 pounds.. we raced 5 times .. 1 tie.. he beat me 2 times but a front tire and i beat him 2 times by half a wheeler and a tire.. his wheeler can launch in 2nd and never pope a wheelie.. mine is tricky to keep down but if i had a lowering kit or straped my wheeler down i think i could win everytime but not by much..
we have not gotten to drag more then 350ft but i kno what would happen if we did.. the 450r is about toped out in 350ft .. i say in 400ft or 450ft it would hit limit.. i would if not all ready in front pull away at 400ft and never see the 450r again.. the rappy would be behind me at 350ft and i think i would hold him off the whole time but only by around a quad or 2 .. the rapy would pass the 450r thou around 400-450 ft and never see him again..
i am very suprised wid the rapy thou kid just bought the thing very very nice shape harly ever rode for $3500 wid the filter, slip on, and jet kid on it.. then me and him added the 12 tooth sprocket which really helps in a drag.. im planing on selling my wheeler for a brand new rapy or YFZ but i dont like 05 colors for them sept the yfz black and yellow.. well see i still cant decid which to get .. if i sold my wheeler i could buy either wheeler but save alot of money and my my rapy bout as fast as YFZ stock wid the money i would save gettin the rapy.. i kno if i got a rapy i would get CT pipe and go with there kit..

hey us yamaha guys haveta stick together whooop on them 450r's and 250rs and those 250r's in 400ex bodies etc... no matter who wins keep yamaha #1..... Raptors i give them props,,, yFZ is a quick bike i feel all around i choose for the yfz because how it is very quick to get moving and lighter, but Raptors have that torque that can help them out and push that extra weight so either way both bikes should be whoopin.....
BTW wshrdskin

RaptorBoy7-You could gain quite a bit of performance on the top end with the LTE dual exhaust system so if you ever decide to switch you may want to look into them.I am 6'4" and 230 lbs and i win most of my races past 300 feet where the LTE system really shines and this is on a fully built 690.
