Changing the plug is pretty easy, providing you have the right socket and wrench combo.
But something tells me you problem is not the plug.
Generally speaking I would check the spark-plug boot first. I would also go through all your wiring and see if there are any exposed wires or sketchy looking tape-jobs where wires are meeting.

Shumway, not saying this is your problem, but no one else has mentioned this so far, so here ya go. If your airbox lid is compromised in some way for more power(either has holes drilled in it or removed) water can drown out your quad causing symptoms like you have mentioned. The engine will run poorly for a bit until all the water works its way out. Note that this isn't a good thing, so you should probably avoid that situation or cover/fix your airbox.
