Here is the answer you have been waiting for: Moutain Bike boots yep...pedal bike bootays...I have a pair of AXO MOUNTAIN BIKE BOOTays and they are great! You can walk in them to enjoybthe campfire and stuff plus they have a hard sole and shank for the pegs. They dont offer too much protection tho. as they only come up just above the ankle.

Hey im with you on the moto boots SlueFoot. and to the sneakers comment I ride my quadzilla in soccer shorts and a tshirt (with a helmet of course) when its hot out and im just ripping fields/trails. I have used my shoe and it works alright although i put a hole through the bottom of one pair. As for boots pretty much any boot with a hard sole (somthing that doesnt have a lot of flex when you squeeze its heel and toe in your hands) will help you out. depending on your leg strenth higher boots will give you better ankle support so you dont roll your ankle when your kicking. My engine builder rapidly kicks my quadzilla in beat beat tennis shoes without trouble so it depends totally on the person and the technique combined with your good old compression. Having a tuned motor that starts up without a fight also helps your foot out.
