Steel shanked rubber boots work just fine too, albeit darn ugly.

REM you make me laugh. I knew someone would comment on that...lol...i am in fact a huge redneck. i ride my rapter with regular boots which, since I don'r race moto cross or race in general, i don't feel it necesarry to have a really expensive pair of boots. You may then ask, well why all the mods then? well first, its only suspension, a pipe, and an axle. because i am 6'6" and weigh around 280lbs. I needed some better shocks. u see? i blew the first set out. and I managed to break the stock axle, so i got a better one. and i wanted a little more kick so i piped it. All i'm askn' is, anyone sugg. any good boots for kick startin' besides those damn moto boots. thats it. nothing else. and so far only one person has contributed a half-way decent responce. thanks

You can get riding boots from Rockymountianatv.com for as cheap as $80.00 That's not too expensive. Not nearly as expensive as a cast for a broken ankle. You don't need to race to have the need for good riding boots.
