hello have a question was hoping to get some help with i have a 05 bruin 2x4 was getting ready to upgrade tires and was thinking of going with the mudlite xt in 26x12x12 on the rears was worried about the larger and wider size stressing the driveline to much any help would be appreciated, it has 25x10x10 on it now, was going to put stock size on front, think this would be improvement over stockers, thanks in advance im new to atvs and i get alot of info off this forum, also 99% percent of riding is on woods roads and logging roads. thanks

 

i think you have to put the same size if your going with 26's in the back then you will have to put 26's in the front you could put 26-10-12 back and 26-9-12 in the front or just put the 25-10-12 the new ones with bigger lugs i hear they have now on the back and 25-8-12 in the front

 

The only advantage I see for the Mud lites is that they are lighter. My buddy put Dirt Devils on his 2x4 Big Bear and loves them. He stayed with the same size as stock and they look nice. I cant say for sure that the larger tires will not put a strain on your drive system, however I'am sure over time it would wear things out faster. They will probably rob you of power. Here is the link to ITP tires LINK I would look at putting the new xl series mud lites on. They are 1" taller than stockers due to deeper tread.

 

thanks for the info guys, i was thinking with a 2x4 that going with 26 inchers in back and 25 inchers in front would not matter since fronts dont do anything anyway? it just seems that a the 10 inch back tires seem so narrow, im gonna check out the dirt devils tonight, most likely will lose some power but i kinda baby the thing anyway so im thinking i can live with the power loss its the taller and two inch wider that i am concerened about. thanks kris

 

oh 2x4 maybe big tires in the back woudln't matter i dunno u will have to ask more ppl about that

 

With a 2wd, it doesn't matter what your tire ratio is. You could have 27 on rear and 24 on the front and it would look pretty stupid, but would work just fine. No front driveshaft to keep in sync. If you wanted to go that route on tires, it would be just fine.
