i have a 99 400 kodiak semi auto, it has hi, low, and reverse, your suppose to press down on the break pedal to swithc but for some reason it somtimes goes into reverse and sometimes it won't at all and it will never go into low from reverse, even when i try to force it it wont. the only way i am able to switch is to turn the machine off wait a second then switch it to low then start it up. anybody out there with any ideas?

 

you try swaying side to side to get it in gear? somtime its there just needs the extra help like on my grizzly

 

I was haveing the same problem with my 05 Grizzly. My Dealer said that it will do this if the choke is on when you try to shift.The choke brings up the rpms and it won't shift. He was right and now it shifts fine. Also check the cable that hooks to the rear brake there should be one for the brake light and one that allows you to shift. It may need to be ajusted.

 

While you sit on it try and get someone to push it forward or backwords b/c sometimes that gear is not linning up right that should work if not then idk[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

thanks for the replies but it still doesn't seem to be working. could it at all have something to do with the transfeer gear oil. i also have problems with hard shifts between gears and getting it into reverse. when i open the transfeer oil it gushes out dark thick grey liquid i replaced it but within a few weeks it was back to the same, i only fill it to the rim but a copule rides later it is overflowing when i open it? any ideas out there?
