Default White spark plug?

If your 5th gear wide open, and pull in the clutch and turn off the key, come to a stop and pull your plug and its white, is that a main jet problem? I know its not good to run lean, but wide open throttle is just a main jet problem correct? It runs fine throughout the rest of the RPM's, just top end, and when you let off at top RPM's it backfires and pops a little. Just looking for if the main jet is my problem?
Thanks----Rider1169

Got to agree. Check the valves first. If ok, I would go 1 step richer on the main and re check.

Yea, i adjusted the valves, they were way out of spec, but are good now. It ran a lot better but is still way too lean, so im going to try the larger mains. Thanks--Rider1169
