The oil level was fine.. They first tried to blame it on me for that reason ; ) To make matters worse it just left the Yamaha dealer a day before the thing seized. In 40 years of owning motorcycles I have never had an engine seize and have always practiced preventive maintainence. I just traded a Harley with over 170,000 miles on the ORIGINAL engine and my banshee is 5 years old and still has perfect compression even after hundreds if not thousands of hours of seat time. I have to admit, If this is an example of yamaha's "4 stroke" technology I am very disappointed.

The crankcase breather connects in the intake tract?, so your engine was passing sand through or around the air filter? Was the air filter oiled from the factory? Mine was'nt and I even posted about it. If it turns out that it was'nt oiled, it should be the dealers fault...since their supposed to check everything before it left the shop.
