well not that we havnt beat this dog to death but im torn i own a 04 shee and love it. but all the guys i ride with at galamis with are going to yfz 450s and that bike just keeps inpressing me and ive been duning for 15 years. not at the hill the shee still rules there but in the dunes when im dancing on the shifter and hanging on triing to control 75 hp unleashed at once these guys are 3rd and 4th smoth fluid power and are riding faster and faster every trip. so depending were your measuring manhood at i dont know. by the way a friend of mine beats me up comp on a 450 but he beat me on his shee too i also out weigh him by 50 pounds. so anyway im going to buy a 450 ((for the wife to ride he he).

 

Well I am the wife and I love to ride our 450YFZ when I am not on on my Honda 250R[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] It is an extremely impressive machine. Thank you. Someone else who has seen a 450 beat a banshee up comp. It is true it can be done. I know it is hard for Banshee lovers to believe it but alas its true.

I know the YFZ is an impressive machine!! It is faster than the Raptor and the Banshee stock.

But this arguement is about a YFZ vs a ported & polished, and piped banshee in a drag race.
And frankly, it is a no-brainer.

 

actually, this whole thread is crap. everyone seems to forget that most races are 60/40 quad/ rider. I own an '04 450 (aftermarket exhaust, rejetted with kn ) an '01 Banshee (toomey tr6 pipes, -2 swingarm, noss coolhead, 35 mm trinity 2 into 1 carb, kn pods, mild port job), & a ' 05 Polaris predator 500 ( stock except for polaris performance pipe). I can jump on any of these & race my 27 yr old nephew on one of the others (doen't matter which one) & smoke his ***. Depending on which one I'm riding, it may be as little as two feet or as much as 20 in a 100 yard drag race.
I'm an old fart (47), but have been riding since I was 13 & my nephew has been riding for about 1 yr. Each one of these quads ride differently & you have to learn to use the power that each has.
BTW the I like the 450 the least, then the Banshee, & like the Predator the best for overall fast trail riding. The Banshee has the fastest top speed & feels more stable at high speeds than the Predator does, but the Predators suspension can't be beat.

 

Actually the Banshee I have been referring too, the one that lost to our YFZ is a ported polished etc......banshee. And this race was not a straight line drag race it was an uphill race, which is a different set of circumstances which is what I have been trying to explain all along. If it was a straight line drag race yes the Banshee would have won.

by the way ill never get rid of the shee two strokes will always make more power remember you are comparing them to 450s and 700 (660) and if you dont believe that take a sqeezed cr 500 for a rideeeeeeeeeeee tree hugger!
