OK hear me out......A stock YFZ450 V.S. Banshee 350 stock the victor will be the YFZ....it makes more torque and is faster in STOCK TRIM listin to that STOCK!! now if you put mods on both of em. then you got a totaly different outcome......The banshee's engine has a lot more potential than the YFZ's yes you can bore a YFZ to say a 550 and make it push about 80hp.. but bore a banshee to a 550 and its gonna HAUL SOME SERIOUS ****...why well beacuse 2 stoke engines can pack about double the power in a smaller size engine....reason being is that a 2stoke fires every revolution while a four stroke is every other revolution.....so a 2stroke will make more HP plus they rev out a lot higher than 4strokes...the motors are also a lot lighter cuz you have no cams, valves and no external lubrication system....so the engine is lighter and makes more power in a smaller package.....thats all i have to say hope this clears up a few things for ppl. out there ......good riding to everybody and remember always ware a HELMET ......$G$

 

I wouldn't put too much faith in those gearing calculators. When I had my ds I used one on a ds650 site, { this site has blocked the name} and it said my bike would go 85. Maybe in a vacume where there is no wind resistence, and nobody on the bike it would do 85, but not in the real world. As for top speeds stock, for what it's worth, here's what dirt wheels says. Ds 650-77, Banshee-72, raptor660r-74, raptor700r- around 75 {probily goes faster}, predator-75, yfz450-75, 450r-74, z400-70, 400ex-65. Acceleration wise, the banshee is at top speed before all the others. From expreience on pavement, out of the hole my ds had a tough time staying with a stock banshee untill mid way through 5th gear when I started to gain on him, but he would be already toped out and had a 4 bike length on me. Every time it went that way. And my ds had a pipe +k&n. Anyway, there's no doubt that the yfz is a better all around, and mx bike than a banshee. There's also no doubt the banshee is alot more FUN to ride than a yfz {and yes I've ridden a yfz450 }. Moded vs. modded, it's all banshee. On more thing for those gearing calculators, a high reving shee [ toomey t-5 or rocket pipes}can rev to 13,000+ rpm. Also the reason for the different factory sprocket size on the shee is the early shee came with 22 inch rear tires.

I Own a Stock Shee and I think it is a fast Quad. I have Raced a Polaris 400 Sport.(smoked it) I have Raced a Polaris 500 Scrambler (smoked it) I have Raced a 660 Raptor ( stayed even with it) I haved Raced a Honda 400 ex (Smoked it) But I have yet to Beat a YFZ450. I like the yfz450 I think its Probley the best Machine for all Riding condtions. But I Love my Shee I have no Trouble Riding it on Trails. I allways thought it was as Long as you Have Fun kind of thing when it Comes to Quads. Anyway I don't care wich is Faster and I don't care who can beat me.
