Umm... A stock tecate 3 250 will not beat a brand new yfz in a drag race. But, that is funny, though.

And like I said before, (and a million other times) mod for mod, the YFZ will get crushed by the old Banshee.

Reason being.. YFZ's motor is strung out when its stock..All of the engins potential showing stock.
and The banshee is like a sleeping beast. put a few hundred bucks in to it and then its a total different story

might as well add my two cents also,,i have a 1999 Srock Banshee,,i know who has a stock one?? well i am a old man,,i like how it is,,on a gps i clocked my STOCK 1999 BANSHEE at 71.6 mph. Does anyone have info on a yfz to back up there claims on how fast it is?? Btw i am looking into pipes now but a two into one pipe so it sill be more trail friendly but also the same company has drag pipes so i can go either way on pipes with just a little time and make my BANSHEE a screamer,, hope someone with a yfz has proof how fast there ride is

 

Well, you guys belive what ever you want. I have owned them all, and know what I am talking about. MACHINE VS MACHINE the yfz is better than the banshee in every way except price! STOCK VS STOCK a yfz WILL slaughter a banshee. MOD VS MOD, the yfz will only last so long. If your talking about just doing a pipe, intake and jetting, I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THE YFZ WILL STILL WIN. I never said that a yfz will hang with a banshee as soon as you start doing motor work. I specifically said, that if you want a straight line drag racer, the banshee will be the machine to beat. DONT THINK FOR A MINUTE THAT JUST BECAUSE YOU PUT 75 HORSE ON A BANSHEE IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY BEAT A TUNED UP YFZ THAT RUNS 60 HORSE. Talk about ignorance. You loose the vast majority of that power from the banshee in wheel spin. Not to mention that it is toting around a hell of a lot more weight!

Banshee's are fast machines, no doubt about it, and dollar for dollar there hard to beat. That doesnt mean they are the king $hit that are untouchable! I have "touched" and blown by many! I know MACHINE VS MACHINE the yfz is hands down the better machine, and faster of the two, untill you get into the motor and spend some bucks on the banshee. Then you will end up with a faster straight line quad (then the yfz) and also be a hell of a lot less reliable! LIKE MY BANSHEE WAS.

I get sick of hearing people say, "well I beat a tuned up yfz on my 89 banshee with pipes. " DUDE, that is not machine against machine. That was a better rider on a banshee beating a less experienced rider on a yfz. Sure you can beat yfz's with banshees, you can beat yfz's with a 400ex, or warrior if the person on the yfz has no clue what he is doing! I bet you could go out to your local track with a banshee and beat a yfz too, that doesnt mean that the banshee is a better machine, does it!

The fact is MACHINE VS MACHINE the yfz450 is a faster machine stock and is still faster with NORMAL modifications. Dont argue it, just accept it.

No, you sure cant, BUT, you have to have a lot more horsepower than a yfz to begin with, because it is toting around a lot more weight, and looses a lot more power to wheel spin than the yfz 450!

What a dumb thread everyone knows a stock YFZ will out run a stock banshee in a drag. Banshee will beat it top speed but that is IT. When you start to mod the banshee it beacomes a YFZ KILLER. ..............ha ha.....after a point it does. Dont think it is just as timple as doing a couple of mods to a banshee and making it a yfz killer, if it too has a couple of mods!
